Central Heads Up - 17 Feb 2016

They tell me love is in the air and everyone is playing either this or that rendition of a famous love track. I see roses on my way to work and wonder how many gardens met their peril for the street to be this colourful. Feeling like the Shakespeare that I am let me recite a few bars of a poem in Gammar Guttons Garland :

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue

But election season is so upon us

 

After a long Festive season were most of it is vague in my mind, toped with January were hide and seek was the norm. The result Heads Up gone AWOL. On that note heads up on the following events:

 

2016 -2017 elections I am reliably informed by the elections officer, there has been no election violence and all parties have been given an equal opportunity to campaign. Therefore elections will go through as planned on Friday 19 February at The Rotary center from 1730. Prospective candidates are urged to see the treasurer, secretary or President on or before elections.

 

And for those that might not be aware. (In a Grammy voice) and the nominees are:

  • President: Bobby, Michael, Gilbert, Gabby
  • Secretary: Thuli, Tinashe, Fundi
  • Treasurer: Gabby, Bobby, Tinashe
  • PRO: Spencer, Fundi, Thelma

The RI President will be in town over the weekend of the 4th of March, we expecting Rotaractor’s from Bulawayo, Masvingo, Gweru, Zambia, Malawi to be in town. Come Fellowship as we meet the RI President.

 

World Rotaract Week commences on the 6th of March 2016. Be prepared

 

Be advised that DRR Nominations were submitted on the 15 of February and Elections are sure to follow. We will be advised by the IPDRR of the candidates that have been chosen.

 

The Friday meeting is also a “…Til Death do us part….” meeting. Put on something red and bring a date. There has been a rumor that a wine bottle will be raffled and the winners date can collect.
